Welcome to The Fresh Find! My name is Kristin and I’m so glad you are here!
The Fresh Find was born 10 years ago (wow I just did the math on that!). I do all the writing, cooking, taste-testing and photography for The Fresh Find.
For the past decade +, I have been an advocate for eating and living a healthy lifestyle. However, after graduating from UCLA (go Bruins!), I found myself at a major financial firm, extremely unsatisfied, feeling stuck and not living out my passions.
To help get me through, I started The Fresh Find. My goal was to share healthy recipes that were easy to make for busy professionals. It perfectly combined my love for food, wellness and photography.
With the help of The Fresh Find, I landed an incredible job that was aligned with my passions. I worked for Mamma Chia, an Organic chia seed company, RXBAR, and now work at Eclipse Foods, a plant-based dairy company. I have not missed the financial world one bit.
My hope is to inspire others to start cooking, despite a busy schedule or lack of experience, or to inspire you to start your own hobby or side hustle. I plan to share recipes that I love and I hope you try one out!
What You’ll Find Here
You’ll mostly find recipes that are vegetarian & vegan (like these Miso Tahini Soba Noodles & Spicy Chinese Eggplant and Tofu) or whole30 & paleo (like this Thai Curry Coconut Chicken & Creamy Cashew Alfredo).
You’ll also find delicious recipes that are none of those things, and are just good for the soul. My favorites are Korean Braised Short Rib and Mexican Street Corn Shrimp Tacos. My hope is there is something for everyone!
You’ll also find some of my favorite restaurants in Austin, or about my travels around the world.
What do I Eat?
I eat everything. I used to eat pescatarian, but I don’t like to restrict myself. I strive to eat whole grains, organic foods, and loads of veggies because that is what makes me feel the best. I also make sure to treat myself — usually with coffee ice cream, dumplings or another bowl of pasta :)
My Favorite Things
I love the outdoors, sunshine, kick-ass workouts, sweaty yoga, wine nights, and spending time with my closest family and friends. My favorite foods are my mom’s sticky rice, handmade dumplings, and grilled eggplant veggie sandwiches on whole wheat seeded bread. Oh, and I loooooove oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.

May 24, 2013 at 8:42 pmHi there Kristin! I found your blog after talking to Marla; we work together. You are a little cupcake! I am very impressed with your blog. I often think of you and how you used to bring “cha siu bau” to my house and now Costco sells it! Say hello to your family. Funny how I never see anyone in this little bitty town of Pleasanton.

June 15, 2013 at 1:45 amHi Kristin, I found your blog because a colleague of mine at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition saw my Facebook page (@ ThousandPoundsOfKale) and suggested I Google a kale salad served at Green’s I believe in San Antonio,TX. I love your blog and congratulate you for taking this journey. If you don’t mind I would like to repost some of those fabulous food photos you have onto my page. Keep up the good work, and I will check back with you often.

July 26, 2013 at 1:40 pmSo I don’t know how behind I am on finding this blog but I’m an Austin-ite (UT undergrad) that occasionally lusts over San Fran (but get all nostalgic when I think about not being able to live in Austin forever and ever and…you get it.) So to see SF folk loving on Austin makes me so happy :) I adore ATX and hope it’s continued to treat you well! Brb going to scour the yummies on this blog…

April 24, 2018 at 8:34 pmI’ve been looking into the juiceland 3day cleanses and just found your blog -very appreciative of all the details ahaha. I was looking for the post cleanse blog to read next when I went to tour about me page and realized I met you years ago for a split second when working at UT and we brought in mamma chia to the retail units! I was Michael’s Assistant then! Small world!
