As some of you know, I attended BlogHerFood two weekends ago. It took awhile to actually buy my ticket, but one of my friends brought me to my senses, and I’m so glad she did.
BlogherFood is held in a different city each year…. Lucky me, it was in Austin. ‘How could you NOT go?’, she asked me. She was right. Although it was pricey for my budget, it would be a good investment and I could learn so much.
Plus, it took place in Austin. I wouldn’t have to worry about hotels or flights and would be right at home. After I realized I couldn’t pass up this opportunity, I bought my ticket, and attended. (Thanks Janou!)
It was fantastic. I met a lot of great people and from the workshops, I learned a lot about writing, photography, interacting with readers, and social media.
Plus I got to meet these awesome ladies…

And I ate. A LOT. I swear, it was non-stop free food… how could I not eat it? If you’re going to make great food and put it in front of my face I’m going to eat it.
I will probably take a picture of it first, but it will be eaten. And I took many pictures… sorry for the picture overload below, but I couldn’t help it!
The evening before the conference, Bloggers and Bites was put on by the Austin Food Bloggers Alliance and Whole Foods. It featured bites and drinks from local Austin vendors. I got a full meal thanks to La Condesa, Sway Thai, El Alma, The Pink Pig, Jeffrey’s, Trace, Mulberry and many more….
Texas Texas Sweet Corn Pudding with Poteet Blackberry, Saffron, Caramel Corn.
The conference provided meals, and we also got plenty of samples from the vendors!
Peach Burrata bites from Wisconsin Cheese, my favorite sample! Stay tuned for the recipe…
After two days of food, we decided that we apparently needed to get more food/drinks before the closing party. We made a pit-stop at Easy Tiger for some drinks!
One of the best things about hanging out with food bloggers is that they completely understand the need to take pictures of the food (haha). While I take pictures they do too… nobody is complaining or giving me crap. It’s a given… don’t touch the food until you get the ‘okay’. It’s great!
I heard about their monster pretzels and wanted to order one, but I was not in the slightest bit hungry. Nobody else was hungry but we agreed to get one. Why? We wanted to try maybe a half of a bit, but mostly because we wanted to photograph it. It’s ridiculous, I know… but look how good this pretzel looks!!
And, I had more than just a bite because it was so fluffy and delicious.
Moving on from Easy Tiger, we arrived at Stubbs… a buffet of barbeque. Again, I AM NOT HUNGRY, but I managed to eat this plate of food.
After a great party hosted by the Pioneer Woman and Steamy Kitchen, I headed home to check out all the swag I collected.
They weren’t kidding about all the free swag!
I had a great time and have so much new inspiration for blogging. I hope you stick around to see what comes next for The Fresh Find!
