I have discovered the most amazing milkshake ever.  Absolutely DEE-licious.  I made it on Thursday, Friday, Saturday AND Sunday.  I would have probably continued to make it every day if I didn’t have to leave town for work.
First off, I am a sucker for banana shakes.  Oddly, bananas are one of my least favorite fruits in pure form… but put banana ice cream, banana bread, or a banana milkshake in front of me?  Oh, I’m a goner.

These perfectly creamy, refreshing and delicious shakes hit the spot on this warm weekend. It was in the high 80s and low 90s this weekend and I absolutely loved it.  I had the best run and bike rides and even got to lay out!  I am loving this hot weather.  It’s about to get unbearably hot, so I have to take advantage of it now.
This milkshake tastes like one from a restaurant but it is about 1000000% healthier.  The only ingredients are ice, milk, bananas, and protein powder.
I use the Vanilla 365 protein powder from Whole Foods.  This powder has a whopping 16g of protein, and ZERO grams of sugar.  I hate when protein powders are super sweet… it kind of defeats the purpose of getting protein when my blood sugar levels spike to the Empire State Building.

But add the protein power to this shake and the shake is plenty sweet and perfectly creamy.
I tell you, I can’t get over this.  One of the days, I added a few strawberries to try a different flavor (plus it’s a little prettier).  My favorite is still the plain banana, but you can add various fruits depending on your taste.
Healthy Vanilla Protein Milkshake
for 1 milkshake
  • 4 ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup Silk Light soy milk
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1 scoop Whole Food’s 365 Whey Protein Powder
  • Optional: strawberries, blueberries, other fruits of choice

Place all ingredients in a blender and voila!  You’re in heaven!

Healthy Vanilla Milkshake (with protein!)

Cook Time: 1 minute (blend)

 

Ingredients (serves 1)

  • 4 ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup Silk Light soy milk
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1 scoop Whole Food’s 365 Whey Protein Powder
  • Optional: strawberries, blueberries, other fruits of choice

Instructions

Put all the ingredients in a blender and blend!

    i hate to burst your bubble but, this is totally a smoothie, not a milkshake o_0 milkshakes are delicious and full of ice cream.
