As you read in my last post, I am doing a Level 1 Cleanse with JuiceLand. JuiceLand is one of my favorite places in Austin. They have a wide-array of fresh pressed juices, smoothies, and vegan-friendly snacks. The juices and smoothies are AMAZING. Especially during a summer in Texas– I can’t tell you how many times I craved Juiceland.
My favorite juice is the ‘Ninja Bachelor Party’, which it has pineapple, jalapeno, celery, kale, spinach, parsley, and salt. My favorite smoothie is the ‘Wundershowzen‘, with spinach, banana, peanut butter, hemp protein and almond milk. YUM. They have so many options, you’ll never run out of things to try. I am also a big fan of the Kaleibrator and Ginger Kale.
If you haven’t stopped by one of the five JuiceLand locations, (which if you live in Austin, I would be very surprised), you need to pay a visit. You will get healthy juices and smoothies full of fruits, veggies and super foods (hemp, chia, spirulina, you name it… they got it!)
Most of you read about Day 1, well here’s how Day 2 went!
8:00am: It’s raining and freezing out. Well 55 degrees, which is a big change from the Texas heat. I feel pretty normal. I’m lively and not hungry, which surprises me. I go through my morning routine and the hunger still hasn’t hit. I get packed up for work and start to drink the ‘Cold Shower‘ which has cucumber, mint, parsley, watermelon and lime. Wow, this one is really freaking good! I drink the first half pretty quick, and then drink the rest over the next twenty minutes.
10am: I’ve got a sales meeting, so I am pretty pre-occupied before the meeting which is great. After the meeting, I decide I need a little sustenance before the yoga class I want to take this afternoon. I drink a quarter of the Ninja Bachelor Party, which is delicious, as always. I feel a little hungry, but decide to wait until after yoga to drink the rest.
12:30pm: I take a power yoga lunch and the class was hard… my buns are definitely going to be sore from that one. I was so focused in class that barely even thought about the cleanse… that was awesome. I wish I could just take yoga all day.
2pm: I rush off to another sales meeting, and have already downed two water bottles of water so I am not hungry. I am rushed so I just go straight to the meeting
3pm: My stomach DEFINITELY grumbled during the meeting. I don’t think anyone noticed but me, thank goodness. I grab the rest of the ‘Ninja Bachelor Party’ and drink that before I get back to work.
I realize that this is only the 2nd drink that I’ve had today, and it’s already 3pm. It seems so odd, and almost unhealthy. Though, it really hasn’t been that bad today. I’ve been perfectly fine to be honest. I don’t know if it’s the fact that I got through day 1, the mental challenge isn’t as hard, or if I’ve just been pre-occupied.
5:30pm: I’ve been drinking some herbal tea since it’s so cold out. I wanted something warm, and not the cold juice. But now I start to get a little hungry and decide to try out the ‘Cold Press Green‘. Wow, is this a green drink. I mean, I like green drinks, but this is green green. It has celery, cucumber, spinach, kale and parsley. I decide I’m not that hard core, so I mix half the Apple Lilly with the Cold Press Green and I like it! The Apple Lilly is pretty sweet, so it’s a great combo.
7:00pm: Here comes the biggest challenge. My friend had a pumpkin carving party, so of course that means food. There were amazing snacks, pumpkin flavored biscuits, hummus, caramelized apples and corn chowder. I found myself smelling the food just to get a taste of it (and also staring at it). Thankfully my friends were all supportive and helped me get through. I saved the Green Protein Nut Milk just for this. This is my favorite one, and I can kind of ‘chew’ on the milk, because there are small traces of nuts or something. This helps me make it through the party. Plus, we made some fun pumpkins!
9:00pm: Wow I’m feeling loopy. I definitely feel out of it… it’s kind of like a woozy feeling. Everything is funny to me, but I don’t have that much energy to laugh, so I’m just chuckling a lot with my friends. I need to go home. We get melted crayons in the carpet, so I deliriously clean, and continue to laugh. Everything seems so funny. This must be what it’s like to be high.
I am closing out this post with my eyes half open. Overall, Day 2 was 100000000x’s better than Day 1. I didn’t miss the physical aspect of eating as much. I am definitely paying more attention to my body and hunger, which is a good habit. A lot of times I eat out of pure boredom. I CANNOT wait to eat on Friday, oh my gosh.
I know most of you know about my weird fiber obsession and curious about my bowels. If this is TMI for you… STOP READING, I beg you. I am very open, but it weirds people out, I know. Well, I went this morning, but it definitely was not as satisfying as usual. I am very regular in my poo-cycle… it’s like clockwork. When I don’t go, I feel really bloated, annoyed, and just totally off my game. However, I didn’t feel unsatisfied today. I didn’t feel a bit bloated (go figure) and felt pretty good all day. I’m 98% sure I won’t be pooping tomorrow… dang.
I’m ready to crash for the night and take on Day 3! I’m already starting to think about what I’m going to eat first, mmmmm…
