As you know, I am not the biggest fan of meat, which makes it difficult to reach my daily protein requirements. After a hard workout, I find it much tastier to eat a hearty protein smoothie to help my body recover.
Recently, I got the chance to try LeanHemp‘s Hemp Protein Powder and I was very impressed. Their protein powders are 100% plant based, Organic, and gluten-free! They are made with very few ingredients. I have seen WAY too many protein powders with lengthy ingredient lists with words I can hardly pronounce.

On taste– I tried the Chocolate Maca, Peanut Butter Maca and the Pure Hemp. My favorite was the Peanut Butter one! I mixed it with some frozen strawberries, bananas and almond milk and it was de-lish.
I will say, the powder is not sweet. Which, in my opinion, is great. Some powders are pre-sweetened (with who knows what) and has a funky taste. I always prefer to add my own natural sweetness with frozen fruits. I recommended adding some frozen bananas, frozen strawberries and a few orange slices.
When compared to whey protein, hemp protein has an “earthier” taste. I don’t mind the taste because I’ve become accustomed to it. You will find this in LeanHemp’s powders.
Hemp protein is more nutrient dense AND more easily digested than whey protein.

I made my first smoothie bowl with the Chocolate Maca. I blended frozen bananas, unsweetened almond milk, and the Chocolate Maca powder together. I topped it off with raw hemp seeds, Chia seeds and coconut flakes!
A few days later, I gave the Pure Hemp a shot in an acai bowl. I blended Sambazon Superfruit pack, frozen bananas, unsweetened almond milk, and orange slices together. I topped it with hemp seeds, Chia seeds, fresh banana slices and raspberries!
